Account Deletion

We understand you may want to delete your Kymia account. This page explains how to request account deletion and what happens to your data when your account is deleted.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: In-App Deletion (Fastest)

Delete your account directly from the Kymia mobile app:

  1. Open the Kymia app on your device
  2. Go to ProfileSettings
  3. Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
  4. Read the confirmation message carefully
  5. Tap "Confirm Deletion"
  6. Your account will be deleted immediately

Option 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app or prefer email, send a deletion request to:

Please include in your email:

  • Subject: Account Deletion Request
  • Your registered email address
  • Reason for deletion (optional but appreciated)

We will process your request within 7 business days and send you a confirmation email when your account has been deleted.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed from our systems:

  • Personal Information: Name, email, profile details
  • Learning Data: All chemistry problems, solutions, and chat history
  • Progress Tracking: Session history, statistics, and achievements
  • Preferences: App settings and customizations
  • Authentication: Login credentials and session tokens
  • User-Generated Content: Any notes or saved work

⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, you cannot recover your data or learning history.

Data Retained After Deletion

For legal and business purposes, we may retain certain information:

  • Transaction Records: Payment history and invoices (retained for 7 years for tax compliance)
  • Anonymized Analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics
  • Legal Records: Information required to comply with legal obligations
  • Security Logs: Records needed for fraud prevention (anonymized)

This retained data cannot be used to identify you personally and is kept only as required by law.

Active Subscriptions

⚠️ Cancel Your Subscription First

If you have an active subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account:

For iOS (Apple):

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Kymia
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

For Android (Google Play):

  1. Open Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions
  4. Select Kymia
  5. Tap Cancel subscription

Note: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel separately through Apple or Google to avoid future charges.

Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate:Account access is revoked and you cannot log in
  • Within 24 hours:Your profile and personal information are deleted from active databases
  • Within 30 days:All data is permanently removed from backups and redundant systems
